I ordered these unis because of their small size. The spring loaded mechanism for breaking the glass seems to work, but I declined to actually test it on my car windows. I am praying that if I actually need to use it, it will work. We had other units that were much larger and always wound up getting lost or misplaced in the car. This unit will always be there on the key ring. We just added a mini-light to the keyring for added precaution.
